Welfare expenditure as a share of GDP in Indonesia 2015-2018
In the past four years, the social welfare expenditure in Indonesia usually amounted to around 0.7 percent of the gross domestic product, indicating a slight increase compared to the average 0.6 percent between 2012 and 2014. The reason for this lies in the reduction of the energy subsidies which have been partly redirected to social welfare.
