According to a 2018/2019 survey, nearly 60 percent of students between the ages of eight and 18 surveyed in Costa Rica stated to have uploaded cell phone photos to the internet, making this the most common risk activity among Costa Rican users of this age. Furthermore, sharing false information about other people and gossip came in second and third place, with more than 37 percent of respondents reporting exposure to these situations online.
