According to a 2018/2019 study, nearly 78 percent of the male school population aged eight to 18 in Costa Rica stated playing video games with others online, while over 58 percent said to go online to play alone. In 2020, most of mobile gaming users in Latin America spent over 20 minutes playing per day.
