During a 2018/2019 survey, approximately 94 percent of the female school population aged eight to 18 in Costa Rica used the internet to view videos, shows, movies, or series, against nearly 92 percent for male students within the same age range. Furthermore, according to estimates, Costa Rica was expected to reach approximately 3.7 million social media users by 2021.
