An August 2020 survey of professionals in the tech industry revealed that 50 percent of respondents thought that POC not having the same connections or networks as their white counterparts was a reason for the gap in venture capital funding for POC-owned startups. Another 50 percent thought that a reason for the funding gap was due to POC being underrepresented at VCs.
