In terms of costs of materials, around 23 percent of a battery electric vehicle's electronics will be low-power semiconductors in 2025. Low-power circuits will have many functions in electric vehicles such as powering sensors and LCD displays. Advancements in low-power technology have significantly reduced power consumption of processors but usually at the expense of processing power. The development of the electric vehicle and autonomous vehicle market is anticipated to drive demand for semiconductors and put pressure on existing supply chains.
