In a survey conducted in 2020 to analyze the changing consumer sentiments concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in India, the majority of male and female respondents intended not to spend up to five thousand Indian rupees on apparel. In general, males showed the intention of paying over five thousand Indian rupees more than women across all product categories.
