According to a study from 2020 on political advertising on social media in the United States, 38 percent of respondents who identified as Republican or Lean Republican said that social media companies should allow all political ads on their platform. In comparison, only 15 percent of respondents, identifying as Democrats or Lean Democrats, said the same. Among all U.S. respondents, 26 percent thought that social media networks should allow all political ads on their social platforms.
