In the first quarter of 2022, the finance industry occupied the largest share of office space in Beijing with 29 percent. Despite Shanghai being the main financial hub in China, the financial sector in Beijing was the leading service industry in the city. Co-working spaces which had become increasingly popular in China in recent years absorbed around 2.3 percent of office real estate.
