Chocolate is universally seen as a feel-good food and is part of the grocery products French people consume on a regular basis. After initially increasing between 2010 and 2014, the sales volume of chocolate and chocolate products decreased steadily between 2015 and 2019. In 2020, chocolate sales went up before decreasing once more from 2021 onwards.
