Chronic kidney disease cases in Colombia 2021, by severity
In 2021, around 888,122 cases of chronic kidney disease were reported in Colombia. By severity, approximately 34 percent corresponded to stage three of kidney disease, making this severity stage the most prevalent in the country. Meanwhile, about 21 percent of the chronic disease cases in Colombia were stage two. As of June of that year, Colombia was home to a total of 251 kidney transplants, of which 34 percent took place in the capital city of Bogotá.
