Tax revenue from the gambling market in Italy bounced back in 2022, following a sharp drop with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Over the period considered, award with prize (AWP) machines generated the highest figures. In 2022, the tax revenue from AWP machines amounted to nearly 4.2 billion euros, remaining below pre-pandemic levels.
