In 2019, the amount wagered on casino games, poker cash, and poker tournaments in Italy increased significantly compared to the previous year, rising by 14.6 percent. By contrast, the amount wagered on AWP (amusement with prize games), and VLT (video lottery terminals) decreased by 4.8 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively.
