Transaction volume of office real estate Europe 2018-2022, by country
In 2022, the the value of real estate transactions in the European office sector fell to the lowest value recorded in the past five years. At approximately 93 billion euros, this was a contraction from 2020 levels, when the coronavirus pandemic brought the global economy to a standstill and forced companies from various industries worldwide to embrace hybrid work. The United Kingdom - the largest office market in Europe - saw about 22 billion euros' worth of investments in the sector. Despite the decline in many countries in 2022, in Belgium and Ireland investments doubled.
