According to a survey conducted in August 2020 in Japan, around 38 percent of respondents stated that they expected fruit-based beverages to be good for their health. In connection with the health-related expectations, almost one in three consumers expected fruit juices to provide nutrients, such as vitamins.
Fruit juices are a minor segment of the Japanese non-alcoholic beverages market. Major market players include Kagome Co., Ltd., Suntory Beverage & Food Limited, as well as Dole Japan, Ltd., among others.
