Venezuela: industry & innovation development goal performance 2019, by indicator

In 2019, Venezuela's performance in the industry, innovation, and infrastructure objective of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was low in various indicators. The Latin American country only had, for example, 0.03 scientific or technical articles indexed in journals per one thousand people. Similarly, public expenditure on research and development accounted for just 0.25 percent of the country's GDP. Meanwhile, 49.15 percent of the Venezuelan population were subscribed to mobile broadband. In 2020, the average mobile download speed in Venezuela was 8.02 Megabits per second (Mbps), whereas the average download speed for fixed broadband was measured at 6.15 Mbps.
