According to a survey carried out in Mexico in June 2020, women respondents spent over 60 percent more in cosmetic and personal care products than their male counterparts. As of that month, women surveyed reported an average annual expenditure of 6,373 Mexican pesos on this type of gooods (around 276 U.S. dollars, based on June 30, 2020 exchange rates). Colombian women respondents spent a comparable amount of money in beauty and hygiene products, according to a similar survey.
