Based on the latest data available on solid waste management infrastructure in Morocco, as of December 2013, the country had 14 controlled landfills built. At the same period, 11 landfills were still under construction, and five were planned. Moreover, the rehabilitated or closed dumpsites were 60, whereas 24 dumpsites and 84 landfills were planned for remediation.
