The contribution of the construction sector to Mexico's gross domestic product (GDP) has been on an overall decreasing trend in recent years, even though it saw an increase in 2021. That year, the sector reported a share of 6.8 percent, down from a participation of more than eight percent reported between 2007 and 2009. Mexico's construction sector revenue amounted to 517.8 billion Mexican pesos in 2019.
