The average monthly price for locally frozen white chicken in Egypt stood at 108.9 Egyptian pounds per piece (3.52 U.S. dollars per piece) as of May 2023, which represented a slight dip of roughly 0.72 percent from the preceding month. Chicken is the cheapest type of livestock in Egypt, making it a common basis for food dishes among Egyptian families. In the period under review, the price of locally frozen white chicken followed an overall increasing trend. However, it saw a sudden jump in February 2023, as it reached 97.73 Egyptian pounds (3.16 U.S. dollars) which was an increase of 33 percent from the preceding month.
