In the second quarter of 2020, the gross merchandise volume of online accommodation booking in China amounted to 16.39 billion yuan, plummeting from 52.54 billion yuan in the same period of the previous year. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 had a considerable impact on the tourism industry in China.
