Between 2015 and 2017, the number of undernourished people in Mashreq countries in the Middle East and North Africa was about 44.2 million, compared to 33.3 million between 2004 and 2006. Rural transformation and conflict are the main measures of hunger under the sustainable development goals (SDG) indicators.
