According to a survey conducted in 2020 on common concerns among Japanese regarding an influx of foreign residents in the country, almost 34 percent of respondents stated that they feel uneasy about differences in language and culture. While just over 31 percent of respondents reported to be worried about the public order in Japan getting corrupted, more than 19 percent said they do not feel anxious about the increase of foreign residents at all.
