Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, several trade fairs, exhibitions, and congresses worldwide have been canceled or rescheduled in 2020, as governments implemented lockdowns and closures to contain the spread of the virus. As a result, the Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) of the trade fair, congress, and event organizer Fiera Milano Group dropped sharply in 2020 over the previous year. Whereas the company's EBIT peaked at 59.6 million in 2019, the group reported a negative EBIT of 34.3 million in 2020. Fiera Milano Group is the Italian market leader in the organization of exhibitions, trade fairs, events, and congresses.
