According to a survey on wearing face masks while shopping as a preventive measure during the global pandemic of COVID-19 in Indonesia, about 95 percent of respondents across all age groups agreed that retailers should challenge their customers who refused to wear face masks while shopping as of September 2020. The Governor of the Indonesia's capital, Anies Baswedan, eased the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions by reopening offices, restaurants, and retail outlets in early June 2020 to help restart the economy.
