From May 30 to June 6, 2020, 47.2 percent of the individuals with loans in Kenya had to renegotiate the payment terms due to circumstances related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. From this amount, 24.1 percent successfully renegotiated the payment, while the remaining 23.1 percent were unsuccessful in their renegotiation attempt.

The source designed a survey to be conducted in six different waves, the results here are for the second wave survey
Respondents who were servicing a loan were asked whether they had renegotiated loan repayment terms due to circumstances emanating from COVID-19.
The distribution of the respondents was 51.3 percent female and 48.7 percent male.
The majority of respondents (63 percent) were aged between 18 and 39 years, and about 35.5 percent reported having attained at least secondary level of education.
