United States: monthly heavy-rail ridership 2020–2023

U.S. heavy rail passengers completed around 218.5 million unlinked trips in December 2023, about eight percent more than in December 2022. Following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the United States, ridership fell precipitously in March 2020, but showing an upwards trend in the following three years.
