From May 30 to June 6, 2020, washing hands with soap and water was the most reported protective method used against coronavirus (COVID-19) in Kenya. The measure was mentioned by 95.7 percent of respondents. Furthermore, while 84.4 percent indicated using masks, 63.6 percent declared keeping social distance to protect themselves and others from the virus.

Respondents were questioned on measures they have put in place to avoid contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The distribution of the respondents was 51.3 percent female and 48.7 percent male. The majority of respondents (63 percent) were aged between 18 and 39 years, and about 35.5 percent reported having attained at least secondary level of education.
