As of July 2020, a study on the photo-sharing social media site Instagram revealed that about a third of all carousel posts were only 2 slides long. Additionally, nearly 20 percent of carousel posts on Instagram amounted to just 3 slides. Only 2.65 percent of carousel posts were 9 slides long.
