According to a survey among Indian urban youth about life in lockdown, a majority stated that they preferred to study alone during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in April 2020. Hyderabad had the highest number of students who preferred to self-study and this could be due to the educational institutions' struggle to engage students in a lively manner through virtual classrooms. About 61 percent of students in Bengaluru stated that they participate in virtual classrooms, webinars and online group study sessions.
