As of 2022, the share of travel and tourism in total employment in Africa decreased to 4.7 percent. In the previous year, it stood at 4.8 percent. Moreover, compared to 2008, the total contribution of the sector to employment in the region decreased considerably, as it reached 7.75 percent in that year.
