Solar energy is the preferred energy sector among Generation Z members in the United States. According to a 2020 survey, half of respondents were interested in pursuing a career in the solar sector. Overall, interest in fossil fuel sources was low. Only 15 percent of respondents reported being interested in the coal energy industry.
