In 2019, the share of outpatients that used the Indonesian national health insurance without premium, or PBI JKN, in public hospitals in Indonesia in the last month was just over 41 percent. PBI JKN is a type of health insurance provided by the Indonesian government that is especially designed for the poverty-stricken Indonesian citizens. The beneficiaries are not required to pay any insurance premium.
