As of July 2020, there were around 7.9 thousand long-term job opportunities for professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMET) funded by the government and public sector agencies in Singapore. To handle the economic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, the government planned to increase support for employers and workers. The National Jobs Council (NJC) targeted to support close to 100 thousand jobseekers by expanding job, traineeship, attachment and training opportunities in public and private sectors.
