As of the season 2018/2019, sorghum production in Tanzania increased to 731.9 thousand metric tons. In the previous year, 672 thousand metric tons of the cereal were produced in the country. Sorghum grows in dry areas of Tanzania and is used for subsistence as well as for animal feed.
