Chile's vineyard surface area is mainly planted with red grape varietals. In 2018, red grape vines accounted for more than 74 percent of the total vineyard surface area in Chile, while that of white grapes constituted close to 26 percent. That year, the most produced variety of varietal wine in Chile was Cabernet Sauvignon - a red varietal.
