In the 2021-2022 financial year, over 800 million passenger journeys were made to and from London, making it the most traveled to and traveled from region in the United Kingdom. The region receiving the second-highest passenger traffic volume was the South East at 229 passenger journeys. Wales and the North East reported the fewest rail passenger journeys, at 23.5 and 15.2 million, respectively.
