According to a survey conducted in Japan during August 2019, the willingness to accept (WTA), which describes the minimum amount of money a user is willing to accept to give up the use of social media for a month, amounted to 17.5 thousand Japanese yen in the case of LINE users. The survey showed that there was a clear discrepancy between the WTA and the willingness to pay (WTP) for social networking services (SNS).
