As of June 2020, 73 percent of total adults in the United States reported that it was very likely for social media platforms to censor political viewpoints that they find objectionable - this represents only a one percent increase in people who believe so since 2018. In contrast, the share of Republican survey respondents who felt that social media sites intentionally censored political viewpoints increased from 85 percent in 2018 to 90 percent in 2020.
