Consoles are a popular gaming platform in the United States. At least 53 percent of U.S. households report to owning at least one video game console, and 26 percent of households claim ownership of one of the next generation console models like the Microsoft Xbox Series X/S or the Sony PlayStation 5. The Xbox series X/S and PS5 were released in November 2020.
