In 2019, avocado exports from Tanzania reached nearly 8.5 thousand metric tons. In the year before, the export volume was measured at approximately 7.6 thousand metric tons. Avocado exports have tremendously risen in the country since the last decade. Taking into account that agriculture is a major part of Tanzanian's economy, avocado farming is rapidly growing, even replacing traditional crops such as coffee, in some areas. The fruit is mainly exported to European markets.
