As with other cities, bookings for Airbnb properties in Munich were significantly affected in the first half of 2020 by the outbreak of the coronavirus. Weekly year-over-year bookings in the week ending April 12, 2020 were at a low of 2.5 percent of last years bookings, representing a decline of 97.5 percent. Bookings began to recover in June, and by the week ending August 23 bookings in Munich were on the same level as in 2019.
