In 2022, roughly 14 million metric tons of electronic waste were documented as formally collected and recycled worldwide. Europe accounted for the largest share, at 40 percent, or 5.6 million metric tons. In contrast, in Africa, less than 30,000 metric tons were formally collected. Overall, only 22.3 percent of
