As of August 2020, 34 percent of Indonesian respondents stated that they disagreed that gathering for the slaughtering of qurban animals and distributing the meat would not spread the novel coronavirus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic. Qurban is the ritual of slaughtering livestock such as cow, goat, sheep, or camel as a sacrifice during the observance of Eid al-Adha. Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, with approximately 225 million Muslims.
