According to a survey conducted in April 2020, around 67 percent of respondents in Japan stated that they used Twitter more frequently compared to before the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). For about 60 percent of respondents, the frequency of using LINE had increased. The survey sample consisted exclusively of people whose time spent on social networking services (SNS) had increased compared to the time before the coronavirus outbreak.
