A survey from 2019 found that 92 percent of schools worldwide considered that using social media for marketing purposes helped increase the exposure of their school. Other benefits included increased traffic, with 72 percent of participating schools stating this as an advantage, as well as developing loyal fan base, as per 66 percent of respondents.

The survey was conducted among predominantly non-government schools in the U.S., England, Canada, South Africa and Australia; 70% of schools surveyed were combined primary and secondary schools, and 55% of schools surveyed were co-ed.
