The number of scientific publications by Russian authors indexed in Web of Science has more than doubled over the observed period. The figures decreased for the first time in 2020, when their number was measured at 86.3 thousand, a decline of 3.6 thousand publications from the previous year. In 2021, the numbers fell further and stood at 71.6 thousand.
