During the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown in France at the beginning of 2020, many have turned to electronic reading methods as a reaction to not being able to buy physical books. Thus, In March 2020, The Kindle prevailed with a 77 percent market share. That share fell down to 63 percent in May, which was parlty due to a hightened interest in other digital e-readers such as Kobo, which grew from 22 percent to a 33 percent market share in France, in May 2020.
