Number of Japanese cruise ship travelers 2010-2020
In 2020, the number of Japanese people traveling on cruise ships amounted to about 27.8 thousand, a considerable decrease from about 357 thousand in the previous year. The number of Japanese cruise ship passengers grew steadily in recent years, with trips offered by foreign cruise operators playing a major role, but declined after the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic to a fraction of what it was before.
