Municipal elections take place every six years in France. The last ones were held from March to June 2020. This graph shows the distribution of mayors in France in January 2020, by age group. It appears that almost 70 percent of mayors were 60 or older. Conversely, 1,4 percent of them were aged under 40 years old.
